Singles Together Across Rockford (STAR)

WHO: All area single and re-singled adults, regardless of any religious affiliation.

WHAT: STAR is a singles fellowship program sponsored by Rockford Area Lutheran Ministries and its member churches.

WHEN: Volleyball/game nights are held on the second and fourth Saturdays of each month, from September to mid-June. Singles dances are held three times each year. Dinners out are planned monthly.

WHERE: Grace Lutheran Church and Our Savior’s Lutheran Church

WHY:

1. Providing fellowship activities for singles is one area of ministry individual churches often find difficult to organize and sustain alone.
2. STAR strives to provide a safe, comfortable atmosphere for singles to spend time with other single people, make contributions to the community, and work with area singles groups on other activities.
3. STAR serves as an outreach ministry to a large, but often underserved population.

STAR Coming Events

BY THE NUMBERS

In an average year:

• More than 250 individuals attend STAR activities and attendance totals for regular STAR events
  exceeds 1,200 singles.
• 50 singles regularly attend bi-weekly STAR Volleyball/Game Nights at Grace Lutheran Church.
• Nearly 750 singles attend special events - dances, picnics, etc.
